The Reg Gilman Continuous Tournament

Known affectionately as the 'CT', this event was renamed following the sad loss of Reg Gillman who worked tirelessly for the benefit of others.
It is the largest single event within the Club with over 60 players competing regularly. If you can head the table for 3 consecutive months your name will be forever in CAPITALS. A full explanation of the tournament and playing rules can be viewed here.

Here is the final table for 2025. It contains some previously unrecorded results; these are shown on the date that the result was discovered. It is possible that these results were reported but not received by me, please check your listing and let me know of any errors or omissions. The CT has seen a steep downturn in the number of pairings with all methods of play showing reductions. The number of pairing requests has fallen in step with the reduced number of pairings created. The restrictions placed on CT pairings by the ICCF in 2024 have had a noticeable impact on the time taken to match pairings, we now have some players having to wait a considerable time to be paired with a player within the 200-point ELO range required.

I think the reduction in games is likely a worldwide trend on the ICCF server, there appears to be a sharp reduction in the number of active rated players in England this year but as yet I am not clear why that is. It may simply because of players requesting fewer matches, more work needed but if you have any thoughts on how we may increase the appeal of our tournaments, please contact me or a member of the Committee.
