If this page does not provide everything you want to know about Natcor please email our Secretary, Craig Douglas, for further information. The National Correspondence Chess Club (NCCC) was Founded in 1932 by Tom Morris as the Forest & District CC Club The
British Federation for Correspondence Chess (BFCC): NCCC
(Natcor) is a founder member of the BFCC. Our affiliation allows
us to take part in the British Correspondence Championships as well as International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF)
events. Natcor
is a friendly club: An
outstanding feature of The National Correspondence Chess Club is the
friendliness which exists between our members. This happy relationship is
largely brought about by the notes which pass between members during play. We
would like every member to send at least one letter of good cheer to each
opponent. A
monthly journal: Natcor
boasts a monthly magazine called 'En Passant' that provides up-to-date
news on tournaments, articles, members' letters, a games section and book
reviews. No
set number of games: In the majority of our tournaments members play two games with each opponent; one with White and the other with Black. Members can have as many or as few opponents as they wish. Methods
of play: Although we are primarily a postal correspondence chess club webserver and email play are readily available. The
Reg Gillman Continuous Tournament: As
the name suggest the RGCT is never-ending. Scores are listed every month
in ‘En Passant’. One point is awarded for a win and ½ a point for a draw.
Scores are taken from the last 20 games played. The 21st game
cancels out the 1st game and so on. Therefore only the last 20 games played
count. Any player who achieves 20 points out of 20 games will have their name
displayed in capital letters and will receive a trophy. Requests for pairings in the Reg Gillman Continuous Tournament can be made at any time via The CT Pairings and Results Secretary. Additional
Tournaments: The
Team Tournament is where members compete as a team for the honour of being
named Top Team. The
Tom Morris Championship decides Natcor’s Champion for 12 months. Other tournaments include: an all-play-all, an annual email championship and a knockout. Matches against other CC Clubs in the UK and overseas are organised regularly. Members
can enter as many or as few tournaments as they wish. How do I join Natcor? Membership details |
